A man and his wife, were walking along the street in a residential area towards
their home. Up ahead, a car was speeding thru the street. The car headed
straight for them, apparently either not seeing them or not caring. The man
threw his wife out of the way and took the car hit full on. Later at the
hospital, the doctors told the wife that her husband did not have long to live,
and that she should go see him. She went in with tears in her eyes. He looked
up at her and smiled. She said in a broken voice, "Why did you push me out of
the way? I might have made it out of the way. Why didnt you choose to save
yourself?" And he responded in a calm, clear voice, "For me there was no
choice, only love." Shortly after he passed away with his wife holding his
lifeless body. As she held him she repeated the only words that could give her
comfort, "I love you too."
